THOMPSON FALLS
The Thompsons Falls, located near Nyahururu town, is one of Kenya’s most well-known tourist destinations. It is among Kenya’s final settlement towns. Thompsons Falls is 240 kilometers away from Nairobi. Above all, the Thompsons Falls is located on this river Ewaso Nyiro along Nyahururu – Nyeri Highway.
VIEWS
The horizon’s verdant forests blend seamlessly with the many acres of coffee and tea plantations. The Great Rift Valley, the snow-capped Mount Kenya, and the desert are all examples of its diversity. There are also plenty of coniferous plantations within wide savanna areas with patches of native woodland.
ACTIVITIES
Baboons, tiny animals, and the critically endangered colobus monkeys find refuge along the nature walk that winds through the canyon at the Falls. Additionally, upstream of the fall is home to one of Kenya’s highest hippo pools, which draws tourists and offer fantastic photographic opportunity.

PRE-VISIT GUIDE
The track is a simple, descent with a well-kept walkway made of stones. The closer you go, the trickier and more slippery it gets. For the downstream trip, put on hiking shoes and waterproof clothing. It’s highly possible that if you approach the waterfall too closely, you will get wet. Bring an extra set of clothes.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
January through May and August through December are the ideal times to visit. There is extremely little rainfall and a pleasant climate during these months. January has the highest temperature of 26°C, while June has the lowest temperature of 19°C.
