“Your vehicle leaves the main track and drops into a lugga — a dry riverbed — just as the light turns amber. Your guide kills the engine. Thirty metres ahead, a leopard drapes herself across an acacia branch, tail hanging, watching you with total indifference. You have nowhere to be. Nobody else in the vehicle. No schedule. Just this.”
Three days is all you need to fall completely in love with the Mara — if you do it right. Mara in Style gives you the full Mara experience with the only upgrade that truly matters: complete privacy. Your vehicle, your guide, your schedule. No waiting for other guests. No compromising on which track to take or how long to stay with a leopard.
Accommodation is at a luxury tented camp — think canvas walls with hardwood floors, proper beds, a private veranda, and a dining room that could pass for a Nairobi restaurant. Sundowners are brought to you in the bush. Breakfast, if you want it, is served at the campfire.
This is the Mara the way it should be experienced. Private, unhurried, and in the hands of a guide who has been reading this landscape for years. It is also our most popular anniversary and short-break luxury product.
🌿 Senior-friendly ♿ Accessible (on request)
Private (your group only)
The Mara in Style safari uses privately booked luxury tented camps in or adjacent to the Maasai Mara National Reserve and Mara conservancies. Private conservancy game drives allow off-road driving and night drives not permitted in the main reserve — giving our private clients access to experiences simply unavailable on standard group tours. This tour is accessible-friendly on request — modified vehicle with boarding ramp available with advance notice.
Nairobi - Maasai Mara
Approx. 5–6 hours | Rift Valley crossing | Afternoon game drive
Early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or airport and drive west through the Great Rift Valley escarpment — stop for photographs at the viewpoint before continuing to the Mara. Arrive at Ashnil Mara Camp in time for lunch and settle into your tent, which looks directly out over the bush.
Afternoon game drive straight into the reserve — lions resting along the river courses, cheetah scanning from termite mounds, elephant families moving through the acacia woodlands. The Mara rarely disappoints on a first afternoon. Return to camp for dinner under the stars, with the sounds of the African night all around you.

Maasai Mara Full Day
Pre-dawn start | Full day game drives | Bush picnic lunch
Wake before sunrise for a pre-dawn game drive — the most atmospheric time on the Mara, with lions finishing night hunts and the plains slowly coming to light. Morning covers the Mara Triangle, Talek River woodlands and the open eastern plains, your guide reading the landscape constantly for signs of predator activity.
Midday, your crew sets up a proper picnic lunch in the bush — cold drinks, real food, wildlife carrying on around you. Afternoon game drive runs until last light. Migration season (July–October): your guide positions you at the Mara River before the wildebeest crossing begins — one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth, from three metres away.
Optional: Hot air balloon at dawn (+$450) with champagne bush breakfast on landing.
