Rhino Sanctuary & Special 5 tour will take you to Lake Nakuru National Park and Samburu National Reserve.
Samburu national park is located in Northern Kenya. It is a premier game reserve on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro river. This vast expanse of remote pristine wilderness measures 165 square kilometers in area. It borders the Ewaso Ng’iro River to the south, which separates it from the Buffalo Springs National Reserve.
A safari in Samburu National Reserve promises breathtaking encounters with a variety of wild animals. Visitors may spot elusive predators such as leopards, lions, and cheetahs, as well as abundant plains game species. The reserve is renowned for its unique “Special Five” – distinctive animals rarely found elsewhere. These include the Beisa Oryx, known for its elegant horns; the long-necked Gerenuk, the Grevy’s Zebra, the Reticulated Giraffe and the Somali Ostrich.
Along the way, you will pass the snow-capped Mount Kenya, which is located on the line. The massive blue mountains provide as a stunning backdrop for this game reserve, which has breathtaking natural beauty. The center of the reserve is the Ewaso Nyiro River, which is also home to a sizable crocodile population.
Beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park is Kenya’s most popular national park and with a great reason.
It is an incredible place to get sightings of lions and leopards. Its also easy to
reach. The entrance is exceptionally near to the city of Nakuru. Centered on an expansive, shallow lake that
supports great birdlife, including pelicans and flamingos, The park has experienced dramatically
fluctuating water levels in recent years. This affects everything from flamingo populations to trail access.
Lake Nakuru National Park was chosen as the first Rhino sanctuary because it was already a bird sanctuary. above all it had the needed land for the rhinos to be relocated at the time. Also because rhinos need water every day, the presence of the lake made it advantageous for rhinos to make their life in the park easier. The vegetation in the park is also suitable for both the white and black rhinos, so Lake Nakuru is the perfect place for the rhino sanctuary.
Experience the rich cultural heritage of the Samburu people through village visits.
